Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Michael Eugene Finicle, fell asleep in the Lord on August 5, 2017.

He was born October 28, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska to Lawrence and Mary (Charvat) Finicle and was raised in southern and northern California. He married Jo Anne Mouskondis on September 5, 1987.

He was a sales account manager for computer hardware and software at Hewlett Packard Company for over 25 years.

After graduating from high school Mike enlisted in the U.S. Navy with Search and Rescue, HC7 Squadron. He was stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Mike often told stories of his Navy days and was honored to serve his country. He proudly wore his leather Navy bomber jacket.

Mike loved life and embraced everything around him. He loved traveling, skiing, hiking, the ocean, golfing, and the Oregon Ducks. If there was a party, wine tasting, super bowl, concert, birthday, family dinner, or a happy hour, he was there living life to the fullest. His greatest joy was his family and he cherished all the moments he spent with them. He had a special bond with his grandchildren, entertaining them for hours with his Donald Duck impression. Mike was a man of few words, but you could always feel his love by his warm smile and big hugs. A selfless man, he was there for you whenever you called on him, whether you needed a 5:00 am ride to the airport, were stranded on the I-5 with a flat tire, or needed a computer fixed, Mike showed up with a smile.

He embraced all that is Greek and devoted countless hours to the annual Greek Festival. A devout Orthodox Christian, Mike gave thousands of hours to his church and fellow parishioners. Often the first to arrive and the last to leave and he assisted in the physical building of two, Orthodox churches. A true Christian and a blessing to all, it's no wonder he was surrounded by countless friends and family during his last hours. Before he passed, Mike told us he was, "Checking out early and will be checking back in." His unconditional love and genuineness was inspirational. We will love him forever and will cherish all the sweet moments we had with him. He will be looking down on us with the smile we all know so well. May his memory be eternal.

Mike is survived by his wife, Jo Anne; four sons, Jeff, Chris (Lisa), Brad, and Clint (Kelly); three daughters, Marianne Seare (Michael), Danielle Aspros (John), and Nicole Benson (Sean Brady); 12 grandchildren, Jaxson, Lucas, Aubrey, Ethan, Ophelia, David, Phillip, Zoe, Dain, Sophia, Demetri and Evelyn; six brothers and one sister, William (Cathy), Richard (Linda), Gerald (Wendy), Kenneth (Marian), Timothy (Kim), Robert (Kathy), Barbara Spadaro; and many nieces and nephews. We will miss this wonderful man very much.

There will be a Prayer Service on Wednesday evening, August 9 at 7:30, St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Chruch, 14485 SW Walker Road, Beaverton, Oregon and Funeral Services on Thursday, August 10 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3131 NE Glisan, Portland, Oregon. Internment, Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association for their continued search.

Arrangements under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, Tigard, OR.
