Michael Raymond Boston, 76, passed away November 29th, 2016 at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Michael was born Sept. 13th, 1940, to John Raymond and Mary Zina Boston. He grew up in Portland, Oregon, graduated from Wilson High School, attended Whitman College for two years, and then transferred to Oregon State University where he received degrees in both mathematics and engineering. He worked for RCA early in his career, and then spent many years at Boeing as a Computer Programming Engineer. He was an avid Harley rider and later transitioned to the sunny state of Arizona where he worked for the Western Area Power Administration for more than ten years. He rode his Harley every day and met the love of his life and partner of 27 years, Shirley Ann Fletcher. It wasn't long before the two of them decided to return to Oregon and took a position with Bonneville Power Administration, where he retired in 2006. Michael and Shirley were members of the Harley Owners Group and enjoyed many vacations and rides together on the bike over the years. Michael was preceded in death by his younger brother, Roderick Boston, and is survived by his partner, Shirley Ann Fletcher in Portland, Oregon; his brother John William Boston in South Carolina; his son Donald R. Boston and his partner Barbara of Puyallup Washington, and his daughter, Erica Daley and her husband Horace of Eugene, Oregon. Michael also leaves behind his nephew Michael Boston and niece Michelle Boston, three grandsons, two granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. He was a beloved father, partner and friend; we will miss him and love him always. He was taken to Young’s Funeral Home in Tigard, Oregon. A private celebration will be held by family and friends over the holidays, donations may be sent to the ABATE/Shriner's Toy Run of Portland Oregon.
